Today's Bridge: It was CP's last day before the layoff took effect (which I've neglected to mention earlier), so he felt it was only fitting that he and I got to be partners while Matt and Kelly, two who usually get to play, had to sit out. The only really good moment for our side was when I got to open 4H with S K-x H A-K-Q-J-8-x-x D A-K C x-x. CP's 10-9 of hearts just sweetened the deal, and Steve's spade lead guaranteed me the contract. (It turned out that Dan had the ace, so I could have made it anyway by leading to the board's hearts, then running a spade to my king.) Our last hand was 3 NT doubled off 4 vulnerable... very weak clubs, but I'd said about all I could.

I didn't really do anything else noteworthy today, I don't think. No video games, no strange dinner... I wanted to get Papa John's pizza, but Curt didn't know what his dinner plans might be. Maybe over the weekend. And if Curt's gone, I can just get my favorite sauce and sides and have my own meals out of it.

For those who don't get the topics of my news posts or didn't recognize today's reference, I started reading Chibi Vampire (a.k.a. Karin) book 4 this morning. It's been a plot point, certainly, but the cover picture really drives home just how absurdly huge Karin's breasts are. That's not anatomically correct. I don't care how much she retains blood... breasts should not grow that big until a woman has matured and had a baby. I don't remember how old she is, but she's too young for that sort of thing. That said, I can't honestly say I mind. She's amazingly cute. Love the facial expressions.

I wonder how long I can remain on this Evangelion kick. I watched the first episode last night and discovered that nothing actually HAPPENS. I'm too used to watching it immediately followed by the second episode, so I'd forgotten just where the division lies. The first episode seems to be there just to build suspense without providing any real action. Kind of a drag, isn't it?

Got my oil change tomorrow morning, followed by the book shopping (don't expect to find much new, if anything, but it's the routine), maybe some cleaning (yeah, right), and hopefully FF12 at last. I hope it doesn't take as long as it seems like it will to get through this area.
