Today's Work: Not only do I have training next week and Lean the week after, but I've got to spend the rest of this week reading the first five chapters of the textbook for next week's class, because we're starting from chapter 6! (Not 720... just 6.) And we've brought a "new" programmer to the project, which will probably mean more help with testing for the short term and possibly some PCR work in the long term. I showed him the system and gave him the info overload, so he'll hopefully have some idea of what he's doing when he starts playing around with the system later this week or next. I've also got to put together a list of the things we need to price out for the project I'm transitioning to, but I have the items themselves listed. I just need to get cost and schedule estimates for them from some more experienced engineers from the host project. And we had a short Lean meeting today, which I hope I contributed to in a meaningful way.
Today's Metroid Prime 2: I'm still missing some powerups, obviously. I know where at least one of them is, though. I decided to try playing it on the Wii tonight instead of the Gamecube, and it worked pretty well. It'll be better if I can get component cables and digital sound, I expect, but the Wii worked okay. I just didn't like the fact that the remote stopped responding when the emulation started, so I had to eject the disc and turn the system off manually when I was done. But that's why I still have the Gamecube hooked up. I was also a bit surprised at the port configuration... I'm used to port one being on the left, but on the Wii, it's on the right, at the front of the system. That gave me a few more inches of slack, so it's good, but it took me a few minutes to figure out why the controls weren't responding.
I watched the first episode of Da Ali G Show tonight. It was pretty funny. Subdued comedy, given that it's meant to look like the people other than Sacha Baron Cohen don't know what's going on (and they probably don't know the WHOLE story), but it mostly worked. I didn't like Bruno much, though.
