Oct. 15th, 2006

I bought Curt's old stereo system and got it hooked up in my room. The thought occurs to me that most of my game systems are now hooked up through the same system as the DVD player, so if I want to play anything other than the PS2 while watching a DVD, I'll have to move cables around and pipe them through the HDTV. But I can't think of much other than PS2 games that would be suitable for that sort of thing anyway. Speaking of which, I'm up to chapter 7 in my third run-through of DC2. I have a few weapons that still need to be built up to their highest chapter 6 forms, but I've got two Ancient Swords and a Kubera's Hand at +5 each, and plenty of cash to buy the necessary elements.

Also, props to sakanagai for figuring out how to get into the menu of my DVD player and turn on surround sound. Some of my instruction manuals disappeared in the move.

Lots of progress in Dead Rising... I killed all of the psychos in the jeep (although they come right back, and all I get for it is their heavy machinegun) and that freakish clown (much easier once I got the hang of his pattern), and Curt told me that the senile guard wasn't quite so senile after all, which will be a big help in the future. And I experimented with mixing drinks, coming up with some very useful concoctions and some that don't appear to be very useful at all. I may manage to survive the three days this time, although I don't know how well I'll fare in later missions.

The ending of Midori Days was almost exactly what I expected, but still worth reading nonetheless. Highly recommended.

And now time for bed, leading into a relatively normal week with only filling out my travel voucher as an uncomfortable reminder of the past week. I feel like I've been out of work for two weeks, even though it's really only been one. That's just how crazy my life has been. But you already know that.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
