Thought for the day: If you want to be friends with someone, don't talk to them for a while. Weeks, months... the longer, the better. When you suddenly pop out of the blue, they'll be much more sociable, even if you had a major falling out in the past. Try it.
Oh, yeah. Me. Pretty lousy day at work. The air conditioner died today, so the entire building was hot. It worked well in the OLD lab, where it used to be freezing all the time, but we moved the ADCP lab into the old conference room a few weeks ago, and that was hot even with the A/C running. Without it... well, let's just say that one of the ADCP servers kept shutting itself down. I can only assume that it was overheating. The alternative - another broken hard drive - would put a severe damper on my work on the project. I'll discuss the project another time, perhaps... it's not classified, but it's probably need-to-know at the least. It's rather cool, though. I have a great job.
And because I threatened, a favorite scene from QEFEFZ.
Mihoshi fanned out the cards in her hand and pulled one out. "Your giant robot is no match for my Blue Eyes White Dragon!" she shouted, slamming the card onto the ground face up and stepping back.
The card sat in the street, inert.
"Well, that's weird," said Mihoshi, scratching her head. "In the commercials, a dragon always came out of it."
The giant robot in question is, of course, an Evangelion. You'll have to read the story to understand. It won't make much sense if you aren't a fan of Excel Saga, but if you are a fan, you'll know that that's the point. At least it's got lots of random characters you might recognize. If you're not an anime fan, go read General Time Paradox or 52 Curses. Yeah, 52 Curses is my recommendation. Probably my best story ever, past or future.
That's about it for tonight... I've gotta write more GTP now.
