Decisions, decisions

Well, everything I've done so far to my computer hasn't fixed my video rendering issues. I'm experimenting to see whether it's the Avisynth frameserver, or perhaps something about the output buffers, but it's definitely related to the number of frames processed in a single iteration of any program - I can write about 50000 frames, and then it slows to a crawl. In the cases where I managed to stop the process at that point, it gave me an out of memory error when I tried to restart, until I reloaded the video file. This leads me to suspect a memory error. I'm going to try running a memory test, which I'm told I should just let run overnight. Another option might be to create a second pagefile on my D partition to see whether that allows me to process larger files, but if the memory's gone bad, replacing that should fix the problem anyway. I just wish I knew whether there was some special setting previously that made things work properly.

I've got a very big decision to make in the near future. I can't talk about it, and it doesn't involve anyone who's reading this... I just want to say it's there because that's as much weight as I can get off my shoulders at the moment. I have the weekend and then some to consider what I'm going to do. I guess mentioning it will help keep it foremost in my mind.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
