Moa: The King of Destruction

They really are videos, I promise.

Today's Bridge: I got to play, which surprised me and apparently nobody else. It didn't go very well, though. We had bad fits. I managed to declare a 4S that made 6, but the opponents gave us every advantage possible. I had S A-10-x-x H A-10-x D A-J-9 C K-Q-x to Ken's S K-J-x-x-x H K-x D Q-x-x C x-x-x, and I got the ten of hearts on the opening lead, which made things really easy. Then I correctly placed the queen of spades in Brandy's hand to my left (which was just the easiest way to run the finesse once I'd gotten to my hand), and Paul held the king of diamonds while I ran both finesses. Without the opportunity to sluff a club on the ace of hearts, I'll lose two of those, and if Paul plays the king at the first opportunity, I have to finesse for the ten of diamonds. Granted, guessing the queen of spades correctly makes the contract, but if Brandy leads a heart honor, I think I have to go up with the king (so I can finesse against the other heart honor if I have to, although I doubt I'd try that) and then I'd run the finesse the other way. After that, Ken bumped my very weak 1NT response to 3NT without any power in hearts. I didn't have any either, and Brandy ran five heart tricks before we even got to do anything, and we had plenty more tricks to lose. Off four, thankfully undoubled. That was the low point for us, but we had a very unfortunate 3H with too many losers before I could establish some spades and a 3C with lots of hearts and no power. I screwed up the defense in a 3S, covering Ken's good jack of diamonds with my king so I could lead a queen of clubs that got ruffed. That left Paul a good ten to finish with.

Today's Work: Bouncing back and forth between my class diagrams and my timelines, making sure my classes had the necessary functions to support the operations in the timelines. I think I only really need one more timeline, and then I'll get to work on the various class diagrams for classes I can't define because they relate to communications that I don't know. They'll probably just be threads and sockets anyway.

My Viddler account has been restricted until they can "verify" it... but they don't say what that is, what it means, or how long it should take. I guess it's time to look into alternate hosting for my videos, unless they get to my account soon.
