Moa: The King of Destruction

Maybe pictures actually are easier.

Today's Bridge: I had finally given up and looked up where to find Fresh Water. I'd have found that eventually, but eventually became today. Not that I got much for it, after spending about twenty minutes of my lunch break picking through the Alchenomicon, but every little bit of progress is good.

Today's Work: After some discussion, the second simplest part of our system became even simpler. Another part of the system had to pick up the slack, but since I'm designing both parts, it's not like I was just shoving work off on anyone. And we all agreed that it made more sense the way I proposed. It's a bit silly to have a component responsible for centralizing a function when only one other component uses that function, and the communication between the two makes it nearly impossible to meet one of our requirements.

The new hard drive is set up, and I'm copying my biggest LP to it now. I don't think I'll need to keep all of the files, but picking out the ones I need to keep will be annoying, so I'm just copying everything. It says it'll take ten hours or so, but I don't imagine I need to do it all at once. I can cancel the operation before shutting down tonight, then just not overwrite the files the next time. Or I can leave it running all night, although the USB hub has a blue glow that I don't want to have to shut out overnight. I'd have zipped up the files, but that was going to take something on the order of 25 hours. I definitely don't have time to wait for that. Maybe over the weekend, although I think it might be better either to zip up everything except the videos and keep those unzipped, or zip just the videos and delete everything else. It's not like I'm ever going to edit them or have to remake them from the raw files.
