Moa: The King of Destruction

Yes, a character's race can be important to a story. That's why I don't talk about it.

Today's Bridge: I got lucky and got to play. I also got pretty lucky with the cards, declaring the only contract that was made. It was actually pretty impressive - I opened 3C with a pretty amazing S Q-x-x H x-x D J C A-Q-J-10-9-x-x, Kevin overcalled a predictable 3D, and Mike bid 3S. If Ken had hearts, he wasn't willing to bid four of them, so I had to bid 4C. Mike considered going higher, but settled on 5C, which nobody doubled. Good for them - Mike had S A-K-10-x-x H A-x-x-x D x C x-x-x, I think. All I remember is that I lost the ace I was missing and the club finesse failed, and those were my only losers. Otherwise, each side missed two contracts, one doubled and one undoubled, but they lost by more tricks, so we were ahead by well more than a game at the end. I was pretty proud of the other hand I declared, a 4H off two doubled. True, they were only going for 4C, but it was a pretty cool hand to play. Wish I could remember it.

Today's Work: I got to write up a couple of problems in full and excruciating detail, and we arranged a trip for next week - for once, they're coming out here, and I get to work from town all next week. Convenient.

I feel almost normal again. At this point, I think any ill effects I'm feeling are the result of the medicines I'm still taking, such as a drippy feeling from the nasal spray that didn't quite stick in the nostrils. Only one day of antibiotic left, which should help with some of the side effects. And I'll be down to one spray a day after tomorrow as well. "As needed" across the board for all of the medicines, although I might just keep taking them through the weekend to make sure.
