A nearly-nothing day

No Bridge today, because we had to spend two hours convincing management (and others) that the solution they wanted was really hard and really not worth doing. We got the point across, and now we have a much more manageable list of things to do. I'm well on my way toward getting the easy ones done so I can spend the time working on real problems.

Today's Gaming: More FF8 during my shows... House and Fringe were both interesting, but nothing that made me pay too much attention. As usual, they made the episodes similar, both involving some sort of brain surgery. I'm pretty sure they do that on purpose.

I did, however, buy more jellybeans, because they decided to have a hot dog party at work tomorrow and gave everyone one day's notice to buy supplies. I hate work parties. Not that I'm a big fan of any parties, but work parties often interfere with Bridge, and there's some expectation of interaction with people. I interact fine, but I don't want to. I especially don't want to have to pay so other people can enjoy themselves. I bring my own lunch even on goody days for a reason. However, because I needed the jellybeans and for no other reason at all, I got hot dog buns. I'd feel more generous toward the guy who's transferring to another whole building, still on base, if he still played Bridge, but he abandoned us long, long ago. Some people, I share projects with. Others, I share Bridge with. Still others, I actually have conversations with. And some might as well not even know my name. I probably don't know theirs. I know this guy's name, though. It's MINE.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
