Today's Anime: Death Note 6, Tsubasa 7 (plus the collector's box, naturally), and the complete Devil Hunter Yohko collection. Unbeknownst to most, it was actually Devil Hunter Yohko that first inspired me to write fanfiction, even before I knew what fanfiction was. But by the time I got around to starting the story, it had evolved into something that didn't fit the characters from the series, and it became an original anime-style story instead. It wasn't until my Pokémon days that I started writing actual fanfiction, and of course, we all know how that led to my current screen name. I also picked up Maiko-haaaaaaaaaaaan during the swapping that went on concerning another purchase, but that's not anime. In fact, I don't really know WHAT it is. I just see ads for it all over the Viz Media magazines, so I figure that if I buy it, they'll start advertising something else.

Today's other stuff: House season 4, Dexter season 2, and Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles season 1 on Blu-Ray. True, it wasn't that great a show, but the extras feature Summer Glau's dance recital. I imagine it's worth having just for that.

For the first day of my first all-for-me vacation ever, it felt surprisingly like a normal Saturday. It hasn't sunk in quite yet. I even woke up early this morning (just after 7, I finally got out of bed), largely because the computer was keeping me awake. It did finally finish downloading the La Tale beta, which I started on. There's a problem in the quest system where it marked a quest complete as soon as I accepted it (it was a quest to talk to someone I'd already talked to), and it's not on the list of completed quests so I can claim the reward and remove it from my list. Also, the other two quests that person gave me regenerated after I completed them. So I sent in a help ticket, and they suggested I uninstall the program, update Windows and my video and sound drivers, and redownload the installer. Thanks, but I'm only off work for one week. And who gets a report of a problem with the mechanics of a game and suspects drivers? Their claim (when I sent them another ticket asking if they'd bothered to read the first one) is that they read and logged the problem, and were suggesting ways I could continue the game. Right... an obvious form letter was supposed to make me feel special. This is the "My computer keeps rebooting when I try to start it." "Have you tried rebooting it?" method of tech support. One solution fixes all. Besides, I CAN'T update Windows... something in the service pack turns the computer into a paperweight until I do a System Restore.

Finally, a meme I've seen around in a few places, which I'll finally answer because it's a special day.

I doubt anyone really cares about the answers, thoughCollapse )

That hurt just a little. Don't do that to me again.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
