I'm slowly becoming more gruntled

Today's Bridge: Keith and I made a great partnership, I believe... maybe a few less-than-optimal bids from each of us (though I stand by mine), but the 5C that I really didn't want to be in, I ended up making thanks to a 3-3 trump split and an amazing ability to count individual cards in a suit when it matters - after pulling trump, there were good hearts on the board that I couldn't get to, but I had 8-3 of diamonds and Keith had 6-5, with the 7 outstanding. There was my entry. The opponents ended with a 5C that I just couldn't double, but they were off four, and probably couldn't do anything to stop it. My moment of weakness cost us 500 points.

Today's Work: I think I've fixed about all the problems I'm going to, with one possible exception, but I'm going in tomorrow to lend a hand with testing and go over the list of what I fixed and what I didn't. I'm still free to leave as early as I can afford to - my travel itinerary is ready to go, so it's just lending support that keeps me in the office now. That and Bridge.

The latest book of Tail of the Moon makes me sad... so many series do it, but it hurts a little inside every time I see a series undergo that particular type of change. Dragon Drive did it in the previous book, but at least there, they finished the story first. And now that I'm catching up on PhD, I expect to see it many times. Rather like the Dragon Gate Cycle, that series... I think. Every book brings a new conflict, and it takes a while to see that it's the random NPC who actually ties everything together.

Now that I've cleaned up the space near my desk, my $5 gift certificate to BW3 has come to light. Might be an interesting dinner option tomorrow night if I'm not going to work Friday.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
