Today's Manga: Saiyuki Reload 8, Hollow Fields 2, Dorothy of Oz 3, Kamichama Karin Chu 1, Le Chevalier D'Eon 5, and Ultimate Venus 1 (also by the author of Tenshi Ja Nai... still didn't get to check out Venus Versus Virus, but I will).

Today's Anime: Kujibiki Unbalance 2, School Rumble Extra Class, and the Tsubasa and XXX-Holic movie 2-pack.

Today's other stuff: While looking for Myst 4 (no joy this week), I picked up Be Kind, Rewind and a game called Crazy Machines that Curt saw ads for this morning. He's looking at the second one on Steam, but the first one isn't available that way. It's basically an updated version of The Incredible Machine, but the doctor's a lot more annoying. Fortunately, there's an option to turn him off. Also, I hate the controls. I also installed Exile and started playing it (obviously). I haven't accomplished much, but I solved a few puzzles that lead to combination locks, and I don't think I know the combinations yet. It's early yet, and I haven't resorted to any hints so far. I also bought the latest Dane Cook CD at last. I'll listen to it eventually.

Curt called Dad today to wish him a happy birthday and Fathers' Day, and I got to chat with him as well. I'll make the trip to Canada to see him eventually, but work is just taking up too much time to get that long a vacation right now.

Meanwhile, I've been thinking about that story idea I mentioned before, and the best way to go about trying to tell it. I'm considering starting a journal (probably not a Livejournal, thank you ad-supported content) and backdating some entries to describe a character and his friends, then using more current entries to tell the story from his point of view. Not an original idea, I'm sure, but it would be a more direct way to express some of the emotions that I think will be key to later parts of the story, and also a way to tell the story without needing to worry about too much detail. And by telling the story in "real-time", I don't need to deal with foreshadowing, and if details don't seem to be important at the time, I can add them later - "I didn't mention it at the time, but..." I still need to work out the details of the character's powers, and the nature of the enemies he'll be using them against, but since the character will never learn much about those at any time, I might just plow ahead without a plan and see what happens.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
