June 7th, 2008

The storm went on pretty much all night. The first round kept me up well into the morning hours, so I slept through all of my alarms. What I didn't manage to sleep through was the tornado siren at about 7:30... which is the intention, so at least it works. None of the local news channels indicated anything but a Flash Flood warning, so I don't know why the siren sounded. Curt said it was probably an actual tornado... great job keeping up with that, news channels. Anyway, I figured they didn't want me to be awake and alert to deal with further weather conditions, so I thought I'd get the better of them and get back to sleep. This is probably only about the second time I slept until after noon, which can't be good for my sleep schedule in general. Well, we'll see what happens. What a waste of half the weekend. Stupid weather.

A tiring day, but not tiring enough.

I need to fall asleep soon, but I can only hope I'll be able to do it. I am, at least, feeling the fatigue. I spent the evening finally playing Rock Band with helenangel and her husband, and we'll probably invite Curt to drum with us tomorrow evening.

Today's Manga: I didn't expect to find much, because most of the new June lineup came out over the past few weeks, and there was the big Anime Castle order as well. But they surprised me again. I found Law of Ueki 12, O-Parts Hunter 10, Hana Yori Dango 30, Zombie Loan 3, Zatch Bell 19, Yumekui Kenbun 2, Shakugan no Shana 3, and Negima 18. I also found the second DVD of Strawberry Panic and the third of Wallflower, so I bought those too. And I decided to get the DS version of Myst... and playing it on the tiny screen is hard, even when I know what to do. The Rime Age doesn't seem to have any connection to the rest of the game... I elected to skip right to the ending, as every Myst veteran knows how to do (and no, they didn't change the solutions to any of the puzzles just to make sure people actually solved them... the same trick works), and when I returned to the library, there was the Rime book. I went in and looked around a bit... big deal. But it'll give me something to do on travel, and that's the important part.

And though it doesn't really feel like it, it's already bedtime. Hopefully, my sleep schedule will return to something resembling normal by Monday... at least, normal for me.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
