Wasted day, maybe

Today's Manga: Beauty Pop 8 and Haridama Magic Cram School. If I like that one, I might check out "Venus Versus Virus".

Today's Anime: Kirameki Project. It was cheap. But I forgot to buy a USB keyboard. Must remember it tomorrow.

Today's Gaming: I tried a bit of the advanced mode in Portal, but couldn't even beat one level. I decided to give Half-Life 2 a go... interesting. Then I finally remembered how to beat the Jester Spirit in Shadowrun for the SNES, after circumventing a few story points and getting the Fully Concealable Jacket probably earlier than I was supposed to. At least it makes most fighting pretty easy.

Today's Video Work: I recorded some clips for my video, but when I went to do the research on the series I want to present, I discovered that the manga was based on the idea for the anime, like Escaflowne! That doesn't change how I feel about the anime, but it does take the wind out of my sails when talking about how much better the anime is. I'll need to take some time to rethink what I want to say about it, and maybe pick a different topic. I did, however, discover why DVDx can't seem to make the audio and video match... it records the video at double speed! I recorded the audio for a scene separately, then noticed that it was about twice as long as the video. I watched the video with a DVD player application, and sure enough, it was much slower. So I used the "half speed" effect in Windows Movie Maker to slow down the clip, muted it, and laid the audio on top of it... perfect match. Maybe there's an option in DVDx to record at the proper framerate, but I haven't found it. Meanwhile, I can get video clips this way... it'll just take more work if I want matching audio with them.

Also, A/C in the house. Word up and so on. (I've watched too much of Airplane recently.)

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
