Work was it

I got there a bit after 8 and didn't leave until almost 9:30. It was that kind of day. We didn't get much done, because the equipment wasn't set up properly and the contractors had a lot of work to do to get their programs compiled and running, but we tested the parts I really wanted to test, and they seem to work fine. So I'm content. Also, having put in so much extra time, I think I can leverage leaving no later than 6 tomorrow to catch the movie.

I heard some interesting stuff on the radio. This morning, they were talking about the latest quote from Barack Obama's wife saying that this was the first time in her adult life that she was proud of her country. I didn't hear the feedback from the radio audience, but I heard some calls from people describing why they're proud of the U.S., and while I didn't agree with most of them, one said something that completely changed my attitude toward the country: Being proud of your country and agreeing with the things its government does are two different things entirely. DAMN good point, sir. Bravo! For so long, I'd been thinking that the government WAS the country, but the country is more principles than government, and while the government is trying its best to subvert those principles, it hasn't entirely succeeded yet. Then, on the way home, I got to hear Nights with Alice Cooper. Very interesting.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
