"Winner" fortune cookies, indeed.

Now that I'm over the hump at work, as far as getting the major effort as far as I can with what I have to work with, I'm making progress a little at a time and poking my head in everywhere it's not welcome. For once, our developers' meeting was interrupted by someone other than the usual safety people who was clueless both about what we're trying to do and how we can do it. He tried to undo everything we've spent the past few weeks working out, insisting that it HAD to be done his way, and he doesn't have anything to do with the project that I know of. I have no idea why he was even there... and very little idea of who he is, except that he once operated a radar on a Navy ship, because he pulled that line out several times just to make sure that everyone knew he was designing us a new version of the AEGIS... which is not even close to what we're actually doing. So thanks, time-wasting guy. We can do this without your input. I'm also trying to initiate a peer review, but we don't have much time to do it... the other main developer is going on travel next week, giving us two days to have it all done. It'll be informal and limited in scope, but I really want a few more pairs of eyes looking at what I've done and finding the mistakes, like where I refer to the wrong device. I do that all the time. Stupid copypasta.

I spent the evening playing around with the webcam... recording myself won't be easy, because it's tough to keep myself looking at the camera rather than the screen, and when I hold something like a book up to the camera, it's tricky to get it into the shot. But I discovered that Windows Movie Maker has all the options I'll need to make my videos, and my jack microphone seems to pick up my voice adequately with little interference. I use my cup as a mic stand and keep it out of view of the camera, and the result is quite pleasing. Shame nobody wants to chat with me live... but that seems to be par for the course when I finally find something cool that I can do. So I'll probably watch some more Angry Video Game Nerd videos, the last new episode of Death Note, and then go to bed.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
