Hello Sailor

I dost know the magnitude of my sins before the gods.

Today's Bridge: Dan and I took on Paul and Raymond.Collapse )

Today's Gaming: More Two Thrones... and a lesson in how NOT to plan areas in a 3-D platformer. A long horse race with no save points in the middle, followed by a cutscene leading into a boss battle with annoying mechanics, followed by repeating that non-skippable cutscene each time the player loses, forcing them into an endless loop unless they're willing to redo the entire horse part just to have a bit of sand available... is NOT good design. Especially ironic is the fact that the cutscene features the Prince being attacked from behind and saying "I must confess, I did not expect that," despite having had the same thing happen to him so many times before. That THAT would be the one cutscene that can't be skipped after losing the battle is even more ironic still. A save point anywhere during that sequence would have been adequate, particularly right before the boss. But I finally solved the puzzles and saved the game, and even made it a bit farther. I've probably missed a life upgrade by now, but I understand that the ending doesn't change based on finding secrets, so I'm not too worried.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
