This is possibly the weirdest thing that's happened to me ever, and definitely the weirdest in recent memory. I just found an E-mail from a Joey Skaggs mailing list in my inbox... on the E-mail address I'm currently using for Livejournal. It's announcing the annual April Fool's Day parade in New York... yes, I know what that's about. The weird thing is that I don't believe I ever signed up for his mailing list, and as apropos as the timing of the mailing is, it being weeks before the day, I think it's really odd that I got that just two days after mentioning him in an LJ-cut post. Did he manage to find my post somehow and send me the E-mail as a way of saying "No, that's not my work... THIS is my work," or was it one of my regular readers who thought it would be interesting? Maybe a bot? I hate to think he or his fanbase would do something like that. However I got signed up for it, I feel even more like Dexter with my own Ice Truck Killer sending me cryptic messages, making me admire his work. Except I don't, yet.

And now, having mentioned killing in both of my journals this morning, I wait for someone at LJ Abuse to decide I must be a serial killer bragging about my work on their precious service and ban me forever because they can't be bothered to figure out that one of them's just a dream journal, and the other's a reference to a TV show.
Today's Bridge: Bruce bid aggressively with a very weak hand, leading us to a 4C contract off five. But most of my hands were very powerful, in the 14-17 HCP range, so we pulled together a complete rubber. Steve made a relatively sensible double of our final 3S contract when Bruce shifted over my pre-empt... he was just a bit weak to do it, but my spades were that strong, and the distributions worked in our favor. I could have guaranteed an overtrick by taking the first heart and pulling trump right away, but I let Steve have it and high-low his A-J of diamonds. Raymond had the king, but didn't lead to Steve for the ruff, so I got the overtrick with the ten of diamonds.

Today's Work: More helping other people than doing stuff for myself, but I committed the rest of my week's work, so I think we're making big progress. Next week will be time to start taking it in a new direction.

Today's Gaming: I made it to another save point in Two Thrones, but I'm sure there was one along the way that I missed. You don't go through that much territory, fight that many enemies, and meet a completely new type of enemy all without a way to heal or save. The speed kills are getting harder to pull off all the time. Then a round of Albatross 18... I hit a hole in one on Blue Lagoon, but missed so many putts that I only tied my old record. Absolutely pathetic.

At least for today, the experiment in waking up earlier almost worked. I got up at 5:30, but still didn't make it to work until after 8. That'll be after 9 starting next week... no good. Also, I spent the day half asleep. Well, I'll try waking up early over the weekend and see if I can get it together in time. Something will happen.

Today's Rant: the_dark_snack wants a rant on "vaginas"... which says a lot, I think. I assume elaboration is unnecessary. Meanwhile, this will obviously be even more adult than expected, so here's the necessary cut and "Adult Concepts" flagging. Thanks a lot, the_dark_snack. You make me seem like such a pervert. I probably am, but that's irrelevant.Collapse )

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
