I was watching the Simpsons episode where the family moves to a farm and Homer grows the tomato/tobacco hybrid known as Tomacco, and for the first time, I noticed that the song playing while he's slapping everyone with the dueling glove is not "Love Shack" but "Glove Slap", as in "Glove slap, shut your big yap! Glove slap, we don't take crap!" No wonder the B-52's are listed as guests in the episode... they sang a parody of their own song! That was pretty cool. I'd say "Move over, Weird Al," but he's appeared twice, as himself, once doing a parody and once doing a parody OF a parody. So move over, B-52's.

A one-track day in almost every respect

Today's Bridge: A pretty unilateral defeat, I think. There was one hand where we had some power, and Kelly passed my jump in spades with no spades in her hand. My A-K-Q-J-x-x just couldn't stand up to a 5-2 split.

Today's Work: I had to come up with a way to make giant messages work... I came up with four solutions, got some opinions, and went with the one I really didn't want to have to use. It might work out for the best, though... while we said we didn't want our legacy components interfacing with the new data link yet, this may make it easier when we finally get around to doing that.

Today's Commute: Not fun... after predicting three nasty winter storms, the National Weather Service finally got one right. They'll probably give Sybil Trelawney a promotion for that one. The sad part is that I really don't have any choice but to go to work tomorrow, while the warning is still in effect, although given the trend, I expect it will be five more warnings before the storms start to get dangerous. This one was just unpleasant.

Today's Gaming: I got my fifth character in Blue Dragon, and she only has a few classes unlocked. None of the useful ones, and one is so high-ranked that to switch to any other would cut most of her stats in half. Still, I found some new spells, so Jiro's back to learning Black Magic, and Kluke learned an ability that lets her attack multiple enemies if she charges her attack, which she normally does. If I combined that with the speed of the Assassin class, she'd almost be a one-hit killer, like MOMO. I'm worried that I may have missed an entire area, but I'm sure I can get back to it. I'm just not sure that it'll be in the same state, which means I could have missed some important stuff. But that's what New Game + is for.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
