I'm a tutor who doesn't toot. Much.

Today's Bridge: Bruce hit me with a few bids of short support, leading us to off one in a 3H contract and a quite makeable 2H contract, each with seven hearts split 4-3 between us. It took us three contracts to compile a game, but we did it.

Today's Work: I showed my project partners how to do what I've spent the last few months learning to do. That was the morning. I think it's to my credit that the work I've done in simplifying the use of our new messaging system can be so succintly explained and demonstrated. I also went to the lab to investigate some problems. They all turned out to be pretty simple stuff, like computers with times out of synch by just enough to make the data stale.

Today's Gaming: Some very, very interesting developments in Blue Dragon. System and mechanics talk... and maybe some plottish spoilers.Collapse ) The first time I started the game, the color started doing funky things, and I couldn't figure out why. I tried adjusting the cables, but there were no problems there, and the PS2 worked fine, suggesting that the problem was at the 360. So I flipped the video output selector to TV and back to HDTV... and it reset. I was near a save point but hadn't saved, so I had to redo the boss battles. No problem, though... I knew the secrets to success this time, so the battles were a bit easier. And no color problems. Just one of those weird random things that happen sometimes.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
