Moa: The King of Destruction

(no subject)

I called the selling realtor this morning. He's out of town, but he'll come by the condo Tuesday evening to replace the cabinet doors and give us the mailbox key. Then sakanagai came over, and we went on our errands. We did some price-matching at Target and Lowe's, mostly. Target had some nifty toaster ovens that convert into standard slot toasters with the flip of a switch, and some bar stools that will look good with the bar. But we didn't buy any of those yet. At Lowe's, I picked up a cheap tape measure and some drywall anchors, as well as replacements for the faucet handles in the downstairs shower, one of which broke and shattered when he turned it off this morning. Oops. Well, I signed off on it, so it's my expense now. After that, we went to Wal-Mart, where ladyareia went to lunch just before I got to her section, but we bought a few small trash cans and bath mats, a toilet paper holder for the downstairs bathroom, a plunger, a cheap can opener, and a shower caddy. Then we went back to the condo to measure the back door for a vertical blind, which we'll buy and install tomorrow, and to try the can opener. It had a hard time getting through a giant can of coffee, but we're hoping it will work better with smaller cans.

I need to clean this place up and pack some of the manga I've already read. If I have to spend weeks reorganizing my collection when I get there and grouping series together again before I can shelve them, it'll be quite a project.

Today's Kingdom Hearts 2: I actually had time to play! Collapse )

And as it's after midnight, it's just2draw's birthday. Happies!

Today's KH2: Revisiting worlds I've beaten to collect synthesis ingredients, mainly.

Today's condo supplies: We bought the vertical blind for the back door as well as some supplies for hanging it. Unfortunately, the anchors Mom recommended didn't go into the wall (I think we hit the studs), so we bought a cordless drill, and we're waiting until tomorrow for it to charge. We also picked up a stepladder and a new door handle for the basement door, since Curt rightly pointed out that we don't have a key for the original one. Then I bought some canned soda to keep there and a few groceries to get me through the week.

We had lunch at Denny's and got to talk to a nice grandmother about the joys of our last names, and the problems we have getting tables as a result. Curt suggested that we use the pseudonym "Stag" as in "Stag party of two", but I like "Bachelor" myself. I'm pretty sure there's a Bachelor Middle School somewhere around here, and we can make the obvious jokes. "Yeah, I've heard them all. Everyone says that when I get married, I'll have to be the one to change my name. I just need to find a woman named Widow. Then we'll both get to pick a brand new one."

I'm not sure tonight's Simpsons really had a point. Not that it's a huge surprise, but particularly with serious Lisa episodes, there's usually some sort of moral. This one was just senseless. Then there was the gay marriage episode of Family Guy and the son with breasts episode of American Dad... every new episode was about gender issues except King of the Hill! Which was about Bobby deciding begging was cooler and more profitable than a real job. Probably not far off.
