Moa: The King of Destruction

The Friday Five News Items (now with 20% more news!)

Remind anyone of the six-member Battleship Five Quartet?

A Jerusalem zoo puts a female giraffe on birth control. Now, they're using birth control in one of the most religious cities in the world, while the big hot topic recently has been pharmacists NOT dispensing birth control for religious reasons. Probably separate religions, but still... sometimes, all you need to be happy is a change of venue. Or maybe species.

A man whose name included the letters "a-l-l-a-h" couldn't use it as a Yahoo E-mail address. It probably sounds like a coincidence, but Allah was in fact on a list of banned words in Yahoo addresses until Wednesday, when they changed the policy.

A teen is arrested after posting pictures of himself with guns on MySpace. Maybe it wouldn't have been such a big deal had he not been in the same school district as Columbine. That's an ouchie.

Atavistic mutant chicken with teeth. Someday soon, chickens may be biting back.

Building 19 apologizes for advertising "wife beater" shirts. Instead, they plan to market ordinary T-shirts with slogans like "I Beat Your Wife" and "Beat Wives, Not Eggs."

And finally, a story that I believe I've seen posted elsewhere: Pee thieves. Probably someone who knew their pee would incriminate them and didn't want it analyzed. Or maybe a witch was embarrassed at turning up a pee-colored heart and needed a good place to hide it.

Okay, nobody will ever get that joke.
Moa: The King of Destruction

(no subject)

Guess I'd better type something here, if for no other reason than to say Happy Birthday, enigmaticmagus.

Today's Bridge: We won. I left our first hand at 3H, when it made 5, but while the play was far from mistake-free in general, it wasn't too bad.

Today's everything else: I beat Psychonauts, yet again, just for the hell of it. No DQ8, no DVDs, nothing major on TV except for Code Lyoko. Lots of Sudoku and chatting with sockschan, whom I'll probably be meeting tomorrow. I burned a bit more Bleach to CDs to free up space on my poor desktop, which has started to make the same grinding noises on startup that the old one did. They never seemed to do it any harm, though... it died of a CMOS battery failure. I could probably replace it and restore the old computer to working order, eventually.

Still no Shojo Beat. I may have to call them and find out what's up, because I've had to have two issues redelivered, and there are still two I'm missing. I plan to just order a back issue of one and pay the measly amount for it, but if the recent one doesn't arrive, I want to know why. And my cable bill has gone up. That's obviously just cable. *shrug* I need to get to bed. Just because it's Friday is no reason to stay up this late.
