Moa: The King of Destruction

(no subject)

So I went to Terre Haute again today, to hang out with my regrettably still jobless brother, go to a real mall, and play games and watch anime.

New DVDs: Getbackers 5 and 6, Fullmetal Alchemist 7, and Red Dwarf season 7. It is good. This brings my total of anime DVDs to 667. Awww... off by one. I need to recount.

New Books: High School Girls 4, PhD 5, Jing: King of Bandits 5 (filling in the last of the gaps in my collection), Juror 13 1 (a recommendation from Mom), and the first Monk novel. Yes, there's a Monk novel, and presumably more on the way. I don't have to read this book to recommend it to you. I'll let you know more once I've finished the Lemony Snicket series (minus the last book, unless that comes out this week, which it won't) and can return to reading other books.

New Lessons Learned: Never play Stuntman when you plan to drive on actual roads. Fortunately, this was a lesson learned the easy way. My reconfigured brain was calculating how much I could safely slide in turns and how close I could get to passing cars without touching them, but I still had enough control over my faculties not to attempt it. Much.

I tried out the simple method of collecting Dragonballs in Budoukai Tenkaichi and got myself a playable Oozaru. Then I gave him a try in the Cell Games. ... Yeah. Worst choice ever. sakanagai showed me RPG Maker 3, which I think I'll buy tomorrow if I can find both that and a USB keyboard for the PS2, because I'm definitely not trying to make a game without one. If I planned to do that, I'd unshelve the Playstation RPG Maker. Then he let me play some Donkey Konga. It wasn't my first time, obviously, but I'd only played a little at an anime convention somewhere. I did pretty well, considering. I sometimes mixed up the claps and bongos, but I imagine everyone does that. Hooray for having a natural sense of rhythm. Then we watched the first two episodes of Getbackers over dinner. I didn't completely hate the theme song... but I didn't like it. And I agree with sakanagai when he says that the first few lines sound like a bad American Idol audition.

Which leaves me a lot of shopping to do tomorrow. Let's see if nidoking can get it all done in time and still watch the TV shows he wants to see!
