Today's Bridge: Another day of Dan H. and me doing the best we could. The most memorable hand to me was a 3S with mirror hands - we had eight tricks in our four-card black suits and no hope of more, especially when trump split 4-1. (At least I was able to pick up the split.) I was a bit weak to be inviting game, but with better distribution, it might have worked. Jerry carried a 1NT-3NT auction onward, but wisely stopped in 4NT - usually a fatal move, but as the cards lay, he had ten tricks before we could get the lead. We had a couple of nasty misfits (one 4S where I was 5-5 in the black suits with lots of power, but I needed Dan's spades to pick up the suit, and the clubs didn't split), and then the opponents made a second game to finish the rubber.
Today's Work: More things that we overlooked, and I'm the only developer in the office right now, so I'm working on it. Among other things, I need to change the versions of all of our files, which means finding where all of those numbers are stored. Hooray for redundancy. I've got some stuff lined up for the summer that will be big and will probably negatively affect my health, but I don't really have a choice - it's more a matter of when than whether. That's the nature of working and being me. At least I'm at a job where most of the time, I can work around my health issues. Granted, it means some very late days at work, so I really need to stop having these late nights.
