Today's Bridge: The opponents went for partscores in most of the hands, and made about half of them. Our only biddable hand was S A H x-x D A-K-10-x-x-x C J-x-x-x, which I felt was strong enough to start with 1D. Dan H. overcalled 1S, and Dan C. jumped to 3H. I had to bid 4D, clearly bypassing 3NT, and Dan C. bid 4NT. I had to take that as natural, but given my distribution, I felt 5C was my best bid, showing 6-4 distribution. He went to 5NT, so I had to close in 6D. His S K-10-x-x H K-Q-J-x D Q-8 C A-x-x was certainly strong, but not slam strong, especially with the queen of clubs lead. I had to duck, then let the next club lead run to my jack. Diamonds were 4-1, and I didn't have the dummy entries for a grand coup, but Brent ruffed a losing spade, so I was able to overruff. I still had to lose the ace of hearts, but that was it.

Today's Work: My efforts to break things have ended in failure, so far. I've given up on trying to create the problem under controlled circumstances, and am just trying to make it happen at all so I can inspect the condition of the computer and see if I can fix it directly, which will at least tell me what, precisely, gets messed up when it breaks. I have two days and still know nothing about the problem except that it happens.

I'm getting even more tired, and my CPAP said that it turned itself off overnight, which shouldn't be possible. I can't really do anything about it, but it's bothering me.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
