Sleeping at all would be pretty good

Today's Bridge: We brought in one of the managers, Marcus, to join us and learn how to play. I tried taking a different approach, leaving out a lot of details such as scoring and the full intricacy of the bidding system, so we could play a few hands and let him get used to how hands are played. I hope it works and that he grows to enjoy the game. As for the hands, there was one of particular interest where Marcus had S 2 H A-Q-J-9-8-6 D K-Q-x-x C x-x and his partner, Dan H., had S 10-x-x H K-10-7-4 C A-K-J-10-x-x. They ended up in 4H, where 6H is an interesting contract. I've been analyzing it for a while, and I think it's pretty much guaranteed - I was looking at a crossruff for all ten hearts, but that's ridiculous. The only thing that hurts the contract is an early diamond lead, forcing dummy and removing the entry to the clubs before they're established. Considering that I had the aces of both spades and diamonds, that wouldn't help our side - leading the ace of diamonds sets up two diamond tricks, so he can just ruff two of them, pull trump, and claim; and underleading lets him run it to the king and save the trump entry.

Today's Work: One member of the team had to leave early and never came back, so we left a few things undone. I think we're in good shape to finish next week, though. Of course, I was really late to work, AGAIN, and took the rest of my use or lose leave to get home in time to cook some chicken and cucumber spaghetti. (I don't have a fancy name for it.) It wasn't as good as zucchini, but it sort of worked. Way too juicy, though.

I'm trying to decide whether to let myself sleep in over the weekend and catch up a bit, or whether to set my alarm even earlier and give myself more time in the mornings, assuming I can even wake up that early. At least my tires seemed to hold up, and the roads weren't even very slick. Parking lots were bad, though.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
