Today's Bridge: We got the worse end of the cards, so I think we did pretty well. We scored a two-trick vulnerable set against a 3H, quite a save from a club contract where we had three trump losers and at least one spade and one diamond. The opponents missed what would have been a slam on the final hand had they bid it, and won the rubber despite our numerous sacrifices. I went for 3C with S A-K-Q H x-x-x D x C K-Q-J-10-x-x, which seemed pretty reasonable. Dan C. had S x-x-x H K-x D K-J-x-x-x C 8-x-x, which is pretty good support, but when the trump split 3-1, I had to choose between giving up a spade ruff or losing the long heart - I could set up a diamond trick with a good guess, but I had no way to get to it. I also bumped Dan's 1S overcall to 4S with S Q-9-x-x-x-x H 10-x-x C 10-x-x-x. He managed to set up his diamonds, but they weren't quite long enough, and he ended up losing the first two clubs and the last two hearts.

Today's Work: I got a few things done around getting my ID renewed, and we decided to end the sprint a little early and get on to testing rather than try to cram in a few more changes, since we've been having problems getting all of the administration done at the last minute, a day or two into the following sprint. So we're spending tomorrow getting a bit ahead on some of the work we'll be doing for the next sprint, since there will be a lot of it.

I managed to make an early day of it, out of necessity, so I was able to record an LP session in the evening. It ran a lot longer than I was expecting, so I don't have time to do anything else, but it's progress, and I'm happy with that. Dad also called right about when I got home, and it was nice chatting for a bit. Then I banged my knee on the desk while writing this entry. I guess not everything can go well.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
