Today's Bridge: Ken had his first go at Precision bidding in practice, even though he hadn't read the book yet. The first hand was a bit of a disaster - I had S 8 H A-8-x-x D 7-x-x-x C A-x-x-x, and Dan C. opened 3H to my left. Ken doubled, so I bid 4C, my best suit other than the opponents'. Ken bid 4S, proclaiming a very strong hand and a five-card suit, but I had no support for him and bid 4NT. With six solid spades and four clubs, he chose 5S, and I couldn't correct him out of that. Off two, where 3NT might have had a chance and 5C was a decent shot. There was another hand where I left him in 1H, but probably should have raised - he made game and may have had a play for more, but he didn't run his good diamonds. Aside from that, we did really well - Dan C. went for a 3NT that was off three, and we had a great sacrifice in 3H where the opponents clearly had something good in spades.

Today's Work: Mostly putting in more tickets for problems I want to work on, and a bit of documentation work.

I'm still getting used to having an overhead light in the kitchen. The blue is still weird, but it's convenient.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
