Today's Bridge: We only had three regulars, so I asked trainee Ian to join us, and he agreed. He still didn't get to declare any hands, but he learned a lot about defense. I took a gamble on a really thin vulnerable 4S, and a heart lead through my king would have set me, but I managed to set up dummy's long diamonds for a couple of tricks while I still had an entry.

Today's Work: It took me most of the day to work it out and confirm it, but I finally figured out what my installation problem was, and it was a doozy. It's something I think we discovered way back when I started on the project, but it hasn't been relevant to us for a long time. Once I realized what was going on, I remembered the early problems. With that behind me, I finally got to turn my attention to the last thing I suspected might be a problem. At least for now, it turns out not to be. There could be additional work related to it in the future, though. I kicked off a final test build before I left, but there was a problem with it and I can't imagine what could have caused it. We've been seeing this problem on and off, so I can probably just rebuild and be done with it, but I'd love to know why it happens.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
