Today's Bridge: Another day where the cards were against us. We had to fight to scrape a couple of partscores over eight hands, and while we set an ill-bid slam and a 3C thanks to a brilliant en passant lead from Dan C. (I started with my ace of spades and the two to his king, while Ken dropped the queen and jack, and with 10-8 remaining in dummy, Dan returned a third spade, and when Ken ruffed with his queen, my J-10-3 of trump scored a trick), the opponents won the first rubber and then finished with a slam that made with an overtrick. I doubled on the strength of A-K-Q-x-x of diamonds - if we had two tricks there, we needed to get them on the lead, so I doubled to tell Dan not to lead to my heart bid. He led a club, and Kevin was void in diamonds anyway.

Today's Work: I solved my rebase problem by cloning a new copy of the repository, copying the files from the one where I'd done the work, and re-committing everything in more sensible chunks. It was a small enough amount of work that that was practical. I might have been a bit clumsy about it, but I wanted to have the work pushed to the origin before taking a day off. The only thing I didn't push was my additions to the ignore file. Those are hardly vital, and we haven't discussed a good way to do that. I could make a ticket just for that, but it seems a little weird.

Eating bread with dinner was probably a bad idea, but on the other hand, I want to know whether my glucose is going to rise uncontrollably at the lower dose of metformin. If it doesn't go up much after eating bread, it might be okay. If it does under any circumstances, I want to know before I get a lower dose prescription. I'll find out tomorrow, either way. Even sooner if I don't remember to turn on the heat before bed. It's getting cold at night, so I really need to get that basement window fixed soon. I might try to arrange that tomorrow along with the other stuff I need to do.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
