Today's Bridge: It didn't go well for us. I started with S A-J-10-9-x-x-x H A-x-x-x D 10-x or so, which I was tempted not to open due to the four-card major, but when my RHO opened 1NT, what else could I do? My partner's S K H K-x-x D Q-J-x-x C 10-x-x-x-x turned out to be a great fit, and when the opponents let me have the ten on the first diamond trick, I walked home with two overs. The opponents quickly turned things around with a couple of games, though - I was going to sacrifice in 5H with S 3 H K-J-10-9-x-x-x D Q-x-x C x-x, but Dan C. doubled them, and even after they redoubled, I had to trust my partner. I missed a chance to lead a heart through dummy's void and A-Q of trump toward my partner's void, but even had that scored a trump promotion, I think we would just have held them to their contract. The next rubber started with them overreaching a bit, off two in two separate contracts before they finally made a 3C to end the day.

Today's Work: I'm pretty sure the likely problem I found yesterday isn't actually a problem. I need to be sure, though, so I plan to do some comparison testing tomorrow.

Dinner tonight was chili-spiced salmon with pineapple and mango. This time, I went light on the fruit, and it worked really well. Cooked as close to perfection as I'm probably ever going to get. I've got a lot of leftover fruit, but I can do something with that later, or just eat it straight.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
