Meeting new people is always fun

Yesterday was pretty hectic - I got up early, drove back to the airport to trade in my rental car, and headed on to my next destination. My hosts weren't quite expecting me and weren't really ready for me, but we got everything worked out in time to catch a showing of the new Ghostbusters movie. I enjoyed it - it doesn't compare to the original, but mainly because it's a completely different sort of movie, so the comparison wouldn't really be fair. It was there to tell its own story and to lean heavily on 2000's-style comedy, and it did that pretty well. I didn't find the time to set up my laptop, so I didn't post an entry, clearly. Today, we did a bit more exploring, went to a food festival for lunch, and walked around Hollywood for a bit. It was neat getting to see some of the sights, but intimidating being around so many people who all seemed to know where they were going better than I did. I feel like I've experienced enough local culture to fill the entire week, but it's only been a weekend and there's a whole week ahead. Should be an interesting week.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
