Today's Bridge: Brent and I teamed up against Dan C. and Bruce, and I think things came out in our favor. Brent still hasn't quite wrapped his head around finding trump fits, so we played in 4C that I'd based on a ten-card trump fit when we only had eight, and 4NT when we had a good eight-card spade fit and weak clubs - I had S A-x-x-x H K-Q-J-8-x D x-x C K-x, and he had S K-J-x-x H A-x D A-Q-10-x-x C x-x. I opened 1H, he jumped to 3D, and I bid 3S. He should support me with 4S at this point, but he rebid his diamonds, and I took a chance on 4NT since notrump would have to be played from my side of the table. Indeed, the opening lead was a club to my king, and I had to guess which finesse would get me my tenth trick. I thought spades seemed more likely, and the jack held, so I pocketed eleven tricks. Brent sadly didn't get to declare, but he's learning how the hands are played for now, and he'll get the chance to do it himself before too long.

I'm pretty much just glad this week is over. It's been tiring.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
