Today's Bridge: It was our day throughout, I think. Dan H. opened the first hand 1H, and when it went around to my S A-Q-x H 8-x-x-x D Q-x C Q-x-x-x, I couldn't just let it go. I bid 2C and then passed Ken's 2S response. He made it with an overtrick. Bruce bid over us with 4S in the following hand, and even though Ken had pre-empted in hearts, with my S x-x H K-x D Q-10-x-x C A-K-Q-x-x, I felt I was worth a double. I don't think it was makeable, but Bruce gave us a trick by pulling an extra round of trump, removing dummy's ruffing power when we had hearts to cash. The next hand was a throw-in to a goulash, where Dan declared 4D, and I doubled again with H 9 D A-10-8-x-x C A-K-J-x-x-x-x. I ruffed the opening spade lead when Dan declined to ruff with Bruce's K-3-2, cashed the ace of clubs in hope that Dan was holding the one I couldn't see, then led a heart to Ken's ace for a spade back. This time, Dan ruffed with the king and I overruffed. He ruffed my low club return, then started pulling trump only to discover that he still had a loser and no board entries to led a diamond through me - he eventually ruffed a spade with Bruce's last diamond and I let him have it. I think Ken got another heart for a total of off three, definitely in our favor. Ken jumped my 1H overcall to 4H, and with S x-x H A-x-x-x-x D x-x C A-Q-x-x facing S K-Q-9 H K-Q-x-x-x D J-10-9-8-x, it looked pretty good. Unfortunately, Bruce covered the queen of diamonds lead and led a spade to Dan's ace. Dan led a spade back for a ruff, then threw a club under the ace of diamonds. Bruce chose to lead a club instead of another diamond, but it didn't matter - I would have ruffed with the ace and claimed. They ended with 3C, making 4, but our 800 set points put us well ahead.

Today's Work: It occurred to me that instead of waiting for the admin dump of our old repo, I might be able to convert it myself. I spent most of the day trying to figure out how to do that in Windows, then realized that I could just do it in Linux. Everything is easier in Linux.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
