Today's Bridge: An improvement, I think. I didn't misplay anything, but I also didn't declare much, and I had an early 3S where I lost the first four tricks (with no possibility to change it) and had to lose at least one trump trick afterward. But the opponents missed what I'm pretty sure was a laydown slam in the first hand, and definitely missed one in the final hand. Ken had S A-J-x-x H K-x D A-Q-10-x C Q-x-x, and Dan C. had S Q-10 H A-J-10-x-x D K-x C A-K-x-x. Dan opened 1H, Ken jumped to 2S, Dan bid 3C, and Ken bid 3NT. Dan considered exploring, but ultimately decided to leave it at the vulnerable game. They've got two hearts, three diamonds, three clubs, and three spades once the king is flushed out, and any red lead gives them the twelfth trick. Otherwise, Ken has to pick a finesse, and they both worked - I had the jack of diamonds, and Dan H. had the queen of hearts. Even losing the heart finesse might not be fatal if we don't start with a spade, since they'd get four of those plus six in the minors and a chance to finesse in spades for the other two. Also, the clubs split 3-3, so they could get a fourth club.

Today's Work: Mostly examining some new tools we might be using. Fascinating.

There's actually a lot going on in the background, but none of it is interesting to talk about, so I won't. As long as my medicine supply holds up, I should be able to manage.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
