Peppers don't work that way

Today's Bridge: Still one-sided, but this time it was in my side's favor. The first hand sort of spelled it out - I opened 1D in second seat with S Q-x-x H A-x-x D A-Q-x-x C K-x-x (probably a couple of tens in there, but the point is that it was just short of 1NT by our conventions and with no good suits), Dan C. overcalled 2C, and it got passed around to me. I doubled for competition, and with 5-5 in the majors, Jerry took it out to 2S. He made it, somewhat to my surprise. It set a good tone for the rest of the rubber, though, since I think the opponents declared every subsequent hand but one and made one of them for a partscore. Lots of sacrifices, although I think the Law of Total Tricks was on their side in the final 4C contract - they had about half the power in the deck and ten clubs, but my K-10 of clubs was positioned for a natural trick and we had the top two diamonds, a slow spade, and an even slower heart. I don't think we had 3D, but it was a pretty reasonable try when they didn't know how far I was stretching my bids.

Today's Work: They replaced the list I was working with with a different list that has the same elements but needs different responses. Okay... I also had a long discussion that I still need to think about and another form to fill out. And I discovered that it wasn't my laptop dock that was dead, but the power cord. That should be easier to replace.

I made chicken fajitas for dinner tonight. I used a lot of sour cream and cheese to cover the taste of the peppers and onions, and it was all pretty good. I hope that fills my quota of peppers for the rest of my life.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
