My schedule was pretty tight, since I needed to do laundry before I could pack and I wanted to be at Mom's house before dinner, but I made it all work. Unfortunately, I couldn't think of a better place to have dinner than IHOP. It was pleasantly empty, so we got seated right away, but the server didn't even know what kind of soup they had tonight, which was rather important to me when ordering. She was quickly replaced, and the new server knew what he was doing. Then he brought Mom's Caesar salad with no dressing, so she decided to have the soup instead, since they didn't have any kinds of dressing she liked. Our meals arrived, along with another Caesar salad with no dressing, but Mom's steak tips were overcooked, my fried chicken was short a piece, and neither of us got our garlic bread. The mashed potatoes were so dry that we asked for gravy, but Mom's brown gravy just got absorbed. I got country gravy, and I think that worked well. I got my chicken along with one piece of garlic bread, and the server told us we'd have to share. It was long enough before we got the other piece that we actually thought he wasn't joking. We got drink refills, and Mom's had a bug floating in it. And then the first server brought us a third salad, this one with honey mustard. It was so bad that while we planned to ask for the manager, the server told us that he'd decided to comp Mom's meal entirely and discount the rest. We ended up paying about eight bucks for the whole meal. We got red velvet cream-filled mini cupcakes from Target on the way home, and Mom is enjoying those as well as The Sensorites, so the night is ending on a good note.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
