Practice is so time-consuming

Today's Bridge: Not a good day for us. I made an easy 4S with an overtrick on 19 points (in my hand) and the opponents did just about everything else. They didn't double any of our hopeless contracts, and the hands that looked like slams underbid in games were mostly just games. Even the first hand was a partscore where I had the setting trick and decided to hold up for absolutely no good reason. Dan led what I think was the first diamond trick through my Q-x-x toward dummy's J-x-x, and since we needed two diamonds, the only hope was to find Paul with the A-x. Well, if that's what he's got, I need to take the queen. If he's got the lone ace, then Dan has the king and he makes the contract. If Paul has the king but not the ace, he makes the contract. If he has A-K, then my going up doesn't hurt anything. There is no lie of the cards where holding up is the correct play.

Today's Work: I got my notice for the training next week and did my best to get everything set up for it. Unfortunately, that's proving more difficult than anticipated. I'm hoping to get a quick turnaround on a rather critical question.

I'm trying to get my moods in order once again and at least see myself as an okay person for a while. I'm getting a lot of support, which really helps. It's good to remember that there are people who care. But since the training will make it impossible to do any LP work, I need to get as much done as possible this week.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
