I'm watching Sonic snowboard up a hill.

Today's Bridge: Not much luck with the cards - my partner and I never had any decent fits, and after a few early sets, the opponents were the ones making contracts. I had a seven-card diamond suit, but we ended up playing 5H in Dan's seven-card heart suit. It hasn't been a good week for Bridge. Maybe something will change once I've got the bidding boxes that are waiting for me at the post office. I have to remember to pick them up tomorrow. Not that they're likely to see any use on Friday, but it'll be good to have time to check them out before I explain how to use them to everyone.

I had a few problems to test today, and neither had a simple solution. One was that the device kept moving after I told it to stop, so I put in a loop that would keep telling it to stop. Eventually, I put in another loop to stop telling it to stop after what I figure should be long enough for it to take. I need to test that one tomorrow. The other problem was that the thing I was working on yesterday wasn't caused by what I thought. I found the real problem, and there's nothing I can practically do about it. It's a system call that blocks, and as far as I can tell, I can't determine whether it will block before calling it. I could make the process multi-threaded with a thread just to terminate the main thread if it blocks, but that's a huge mess that we're not going to get into right now.

The levels I'm at in the Twilight Princess DLC are pretty much impossible. The enemies in one of them hit way too hard. I'll just have to keep trying the other ones.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
