Spades today: Here's my first hand: S 8, H J-8-7-6-x, C A-10-x-x-x-x, D Q. I may have some of those off by one, but the honors were exactly as you see them, as were the card counts. I was opening the bidding, with the score naturally tied at zero... and I bid nil. Seems natural, doesn't it? And I should have led the spade, but I led a middle club instead. Turned out not to matter, as partner won and led right down his spades. A-K-Q-J-x-x, I believe. I tossed the queen, jack, ace in that order (note the jack before the ace, indicating that I was more worried about hearts than clubs), but his long spades made most of my plays irrelevant. He bid 6 and made 8 plus my nil. We got set on a 10 and the last hand, though, which cost us the game. But that last one was a tough play... I needed to throw losing spades to the opponents, effectively killing my ruffs, and get to partner's hand so he could run his good cards. Not like I got ruffs anyway. Oh well.
Didn't write much, since I've been helping a friend with his own stories, but I feel like we accomplished a lot. I did, however, write the first Lupin scene for QEFEFZ, and a nifty fourth-wall gag that you might like except that I told you it was coming...
"Wasn't that a bit long for such a simple gag?" asked Yakumo.
"Stop breaking the fourth wall and just deal with the situation at hand!" ordered Clef.
Damuramu flexed and puffed out his chest, which didn't really change the shape of his metal body at all. "Ha! What do you think you can do against THIS physique?
"Take a scene break?" suggested Mihoshi.
************************BONK! Clef stretched up a hand and pushed the scene break back. "Mihoshi, what did I just say?"
"Stop breaking the fourth wall?" guessed Mihoshi.
"Correct. Now, hand my leash to Yakumo."
Mihoshi meekly did so, as the familiar pit opened beneath her feet.
"I think we've all learned a lesson from this," Clef said with a satisfied air as the scene changed.

So there you have it. Tomorrow, I go to Terre Haute to hopefully get Noir 5, Mars 13, Chobits 7, and maybe a few other new manga and anime. I'd like to get more of SMJ-X, at least, and it'll be triple points.
Keep on keeping on, little buddy. Keep on keeping on. And yes, I'm well aware of exactly how redundant that is.
