A Friday for thinking unusual thoughts

Today's Bridge: Ken and I teamed up against Jerry and Raymond and came out well on top. I don't remember there being anything particularly notable about any of the hands, except maybe a 2S we defended where I started with my singleton heart and Ken led every non-trump he had except hearts until Jerry ruffed in and pulled my trump. We took five tricks in the side suits, so I think even one ruff would have done it. I screwed up one of my hands by forgetting to cash the jack of hearts while I was in my hand to sluff a loser from dummy, then exited with no entries. Fortunately, Jerry led a heart back at me and made up for my mistake. Ken and I each had some killer hands, though - I had 19 in the first hand and we just had nearly identical distribution in 5D, then he had 19 in the third hand and we made a game there. I had a 21-point hand even later with S A-K-Q-J-x H K-x D A-K-x C J-x-x - with weak clubs, short hearts, and five great spades, I elected to bid 1S instead. We ended at 4S, and with Ken's S 7-x-x-x H A-x-x D J-10?-x-x-x C x, I thought we'd probably underbid. When the jack of diamonds held a trick, I figured we'd definitely underbid. However, Jerry had a singleton diamond and ruffed in while I tried to ruff away both of my clubs before I finished pulling trump. Maybe I should have tried to set up the diamonds instead and just pulled another round, but they turn out not to establish.

I got another video processed, and I'll upload it tomorrow. I'm keeping pace with my release schedule, at least, and I have the weekend to do more work, depending on my mood. I might just blow off LP work for the weekend and play more games instead.
