GENEON SUCKS!

GENEON SUCKS!

Let's just get that out in the open.

GENEON SUCKS!

And furthermore,

GENEON SUCKS!

And let me note that while I generally side with companies' business decisions and don't like to be needlessly inflammatory, particularly against a company as a whole based on a single experience...

GENEON SUCKS! GENEON SUCKS! GENEON SUCKS! GENEON SUCKS! GENEON SUCKS!

Now that that's all out of my system,

GENEON SUCKS!

Whoops. Guess there was one more

GENEON SUCKS!

left in there. So what's my problem? It seems that, as I've suspected for some time, Geneon (who SUCK, by the way) have decided to make their limited edition release of the Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi figurine set a VERY limited edition... as in, they're not making any more. Period. Not even enough to match the first run with just Aoi in them. Oh, they made some, and Animenation dutifully shipped them out and awaited more. But there are no more to be had. They haven't deigned to comment yet on whether there will be any more figurines (or indeed, any at all) for the third set "with box", or whether perhaps all FOUR missing figurines will be included with that DVD, which would be a very nice gesture and is the only reason I haven't yet asked to exchange my order for that one with the not-with-box version. Normally, which company licenses a series is not part of my purchasing decision, but from now on I plan to weigh Geneon's name against how much I want a series. First the schedule slippages with the Sailor Moon DVDs, now this...

GENEON SUCKS!

There's a REASON they don't provide a phone number or E-mail address on their website. Let's all say it together:

GENEON SUCKS!

And if they license any anime series I've got downloaded versions of, I don't know whether I'll bother to destroy my copies. After all, they've falsely advertised a product that they didn't intend to sell. Why should they have any right to bring the law to bear against the consumer they've slighted in the process?

And to round off this post on a happier note,

(GENEON SUCKS!)

for novademon's benefit as much as anyone else's, from the treasure trove at Snopes comes this handy way to show your support for the candidate of your choice in the upcoming election. (danightman, feel free to switch the names should you choose to distribute the joke. I don't endorse either one, but that's the way the joke was written and I'm just linking to it. I'm an equal opportunity disdainer of all things political.) Since the polls aren't giving any clue who's likely to win, that must mean... HOLY MOTHER OF DEITY! THE ELECTION HASN'T HAPPENED YET AND WE DON'T KNOW WHO WILL WIN! THIS IS A CRISIS OF MEDIA PROPORTIONS!

THE MEDIA SUCKS! POLITICS SUCKS SLIGHTLY LESS!

Nothing matters in any way until people actually go to vote in the final election. Do you really want someone in the White House who knows how to please the smallest number of key people necessary to get a high approval rating while alienating the people he trusts to support him no matter what? Geneon is doing that, and I sure as hell don't want to support them as an anime distributor any more! How about the guy who can act in the interests of the largest possible group of people in any situation, regardless of the results of polls? How about someone who has a clue what's good for America without needing to piss people off enough to see it hurt some tangible statistic? (Yes, I know that's an oxymoron. That's part of the idea.) How about the best PRESIDENT, not the best POLICITIAN? Oh, wait. That would defy the Fundamental Tenet of Cynicism by making sense. We can't have that.

Ranting... kinda sucks. I'm glad I don't do it often.
