Work was more stressful than I'd expected, possibly because I woke up with a headache and the Ibuprofen tablet I took didn't really do much until well after I got to work. I intended to take a dose of a different painkiller when it was safe, but I forgot. (I guess that means I didn't really need it, but I was in quite a hurry by then.) I got a number of E-mails with action items I need to take care of, and I really don't have the means to do that this week. Strangely, having sushi for lunch may turn out to have been the least of my worries. Hey, I always feel sick before a trip, so I figured, why not eat something more likely to make me sick than anything else? I believe in the power of irony to keep me in good enough health to make the trip. I've got most of my stuff packed, aside from the things I need tonight and the electronic devices that are charging. A couple of books, my 3DS, and enough clothes and toiletries for the time I'll be gone. I'm sure I'm forgetting something because I haven't traveled in ages, but the only thing I can think of that I couldn't locate was my bubble wrap, and I think I packed enough clothing around the laptop to keep it safe. (I was hoping to use a smaller suitcase, but the laptop case doesn't fit. Mine does, but there's no way I'm putting my personal laptop in the hold and keeping the business one on me. I'd probably forget it on the plane anyway.) It's going to be a short trip to a place I've never been, and I resisted the temptation to fly to a familiar airport that was a bit farther away in favor of an airport where I assume the traffic patterns are horrendous. The one thing I'm worried about is getting there in time for my return flight. Well, if I stick with my 5:30 (plus snoozes) alarm, I should have plenty of time, and while I try to make it to the airport two hours before even domestic flights, I think that's earlier than I'm supposed to arrive. I like to be exceptionally careful. I'm planning to wear my raincoat as usual, since there will probably be storms tomorrow - they like to show up when I'm driving, or traveling by any means.
Probably going to get rained on, but at least that should keep it cool
