Today's Bridge: Mike and I swept the first rubber in two hands, despite what was probably my worst bidding ever. I had S x-x-x H 6-4-3 D J-10-x C A-K-x-x, and Mike opened 1H after three passes. Dan bid 1NT, which was what I intended to bid, so I passed. Paul passed as well, but Mike had a strong hand with a club void, so he bid 2D. I corrected to 2H, where perhaps I could have bid 3H, but he raised to 3 anyway, obviously inviting game. I raised to game anyway, and he only missed an overtrick by not throwing a losing spade under the king of clubs when he had the chance. I took 3NT after that, thanks to Paul providing the ace on the first heart trick and setting up Mike's K-Q-J-9-x-x. I got three overtricks when they threw away all of their diamonds as well. We managed to set them on their next two contracts, but they eventually made a game, while we only countered with a 2H. Then I did some research and discovered that, as far as I can tell, nobody actually knows where the word "rubber" in the sense of "final tie-breaking match" (which is apparently the origin of the Bridge variant) came from. I wonder if it's got a similar origin to Shakespeare's "there's the rub". See, I DO know some Shakespeare.

Today's Work: I finally got a bunch of reviews assigned to me, so I knocked out the shorter ones. Got a big meeting tomorrow, which I think trumps the all-hands meeting that everyone else has to go to tomorrow, which is something about military history, and then back to the giant multi-day reviews, which are most of them.

And I've watched all of the videos for tonight. I could probably play Skyward Sword, but I have a feeling I'm going to set the PS3 up to record and do a full test, beginning to end, of Demon's Souls grinding for a while, right up to posting the finished product. Not all tonight, of course, but I need to see things like how long it will take and whether removing the component switcher from the loop will fix the pass-through issues with the PVR, although I don't think I ever had any major issues with that recording Majin. The 360 would be a better test, but I don't plan to record from that.
