I'm not Nidoking! Nidoking swapped places with me on Twitter yesterday!

Today's Manga: I still have them sitting on my bed - got too busy working on the next set of Space Quest videos to put them away just yet. So that makes them easy to list. Fafner: Dead Aggressor 1, Hero Tales 4, Higurashi: Beyond Midnight Arc 1, Hyde & Closer 2, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 7, The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-Chan 1, Omamori Himari 1, Pandora Hearts 3, Spiral 13, and Zombie Loan 10.

Today's Other Stuff: I decided to buy Dexter is Delicious rather than wait for it to come out in paperback, because I'm almost done with the Myst trilogy. I also picked up a 2TB external hard drive at a great price, which turned out to be much cheaper than even the greatly reduced price listed on the shelf. I think I got it for $103 or so all told. I also picked up a USB hub because my desktop is host to too many USB devices, and the hard drive will be yet another one. Then we decided to check out Gamestop's buy 2, get 1 free sale on used games. Curt decided to partake because he found a used PS3 copy of Dead Rising 2, and I decided to get Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadows for the DS, Crackdown 2 for the 360, and Lego Harry Potter for the PS3. True, I already have Lego Harry Potter for the DS, but the PS3 version is quite different. It was pretty expensive even used, but I couldn't find any other games in that general price range that I wanted at all, at least among those that had manuals and cases. I like having those. We went back to Best Buy later, because Curt hadn't realized what a good deal the hard drive was (like I said, the shelf price was much higher than the actual price), so I picked up my own PS3 copy of Dead Rising 2.

Um... kigurumi is disturbing and I really don't want to see my least favorite anime character that way, let alone my favorite. Why can't they just ask who my favorite character is and LEAVE TOMOYO ALONE?! Yeah... I know it's obvious and predictable, but I have to go with Tomoyo Daidouji from Cardcaptor Sakura for this one. When it comes to being adorable, there are a lot of characters on my short list, but Tomoyo is the one who most genuinely cares about other people. Yes, she's got a monster crush on Sakura, and that's part of her charm. She has a theater in her bedroom with videos of Sakura capturing all the Clow Cards she was present for, and a closet full of outfits that she tries to get Sakura to wear each time. She's a bit young to be in love the way adults think of it, but her love is a lot more mature than you'd expect just looking at her. And this userpic, which really isn't intended to look perverted, is her comforting someone else who's lost her love. I couldn't pick Tomoyo for a romantic match because she's TOO comforting. As much as I'd like to be comforted sometimes, I want to be the one doing the comforting, and I don't think Tomoyo would have any of that. Also, I'd have to question her sexual orientation. When she gets older, I imagine she'd end up at one of the schools from Strawberry Panic. She's still a great character, and 52 Curses, which I think is the best story I've ever written and probably will ever write, wouldn't be the same without her.

On the manga front, I suppose I'll have to try hard to surprise anyone. Okay... Arsène Lupin III. Okay, his anime incarnation is pretty cool, but I don't recall him doing half of the neat stuff he did in the manga. The second chapter is probably one of my favorite chapters of any manga series, ever. EVER. And it's all Lupin. He's far from perfect, especially when he's dealing with Fujiko, but I think anyone would be rather distracted when dealing with Fujiko. True, she didn't make the top of my sexiest women list, but she's definitely up there. Lupin III has a sort of quiet dignity even in defeat, and he always comes back for revenge. And he gets it. Oh boy, does he get it. But he usually comes out on top in the first place, particularly when his partners, Jigen and Goemon, are in on the plan. And he's so stylish about it, you can't help but admire the guy. Everything he does is classic, sort of like that Most Interesting Man in the World from the Dos Equis commercials, only you actually get to see the stories. We don't have to take the announcer's word for it that Lupin's interesting. We can see that for ourselves. And if you haven't yet, you really should.
