The end of a dream

The second day is far from over, but I may as well post an entry during my downtime. The crowds today were so bad that it was almost impossible to move around, and it took way too long to get anywhere. I devoted the early morning to getting an autographed photo with Jewel Staite, and I got to chat with her briefly while she signed it. I've been wanting to tell her how much I liked her in Space Cases for about 15 years, and today, that happened. That was the unachievable dream that I'd been harboring for all that time. (Well, honestly, the dream included stuff like becoming a professional actor and starring with her in something, but over the years, I've learned how to have proper life goals.) So this isn't about a ruined dream, but a dream fulfilled. It's a great feeling. I just need a new dream for the next 15 years.

I wanted to see James Randi's panel, but it was full. I did get to see the second voice actors' panel, which I chose over the MST3K panel and don't regret it. John DiMaggio is as hilarious in person as he is with a script, and Tom Kenny did such a great Spongebob Squarepants improv that he cracked up Dana Snyder. I considered the Adam Savage panel and may still go see if there's room, but I don't want to have to wait in a line. By the time I get there, it will have started. There's a DQ9 meet and greet gathering tonight, which I'll probably go to, and that may be it. There's a late event that will be brilliant, but it's in a small room... no chance of getting in without waiting for hours. I think I'll spend the time recovering and be ready to face tomorrow.

I hate the way the browser always scrolls the text box so I can't see what I'm typing. Maybe I need to get a client after all.
