The appointment with the ophthalmologist went pretty well. Too well, in fact. He checked my eyes and found no problems, and the prescription was pretty close to my current one. In other words, my eyes are perfectly fine - the problem has to be somewhere else. They're going to do a visual field test next to check my optic nerve, which had to be scheduled well in advance. Fortunately, they managed to pull some strings and get me in a week from tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm going to try to get back to working from home so I don't have to use all of my sick leave, and also so that I can contribute to the project again. He also said that my A1C was surprisingly low - his actual words were something to the effect that you don't hear numbers that low from a diabetic. I wonder whether perhaps my elevated glucose two years ago was caused by something else, and now that I'm back to normal levels, the low-carb diet and medication are actually just causing more problems. The first step of working on that, at least, is making sure my glucose doesn't start trending upward at a reduced dose.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
