Today's Bridge: We were outmatched again. I started with a 4C opener, S Q H J-x-x D x C A-K-Q-9-8-x-x-x, and Brent's J-x-x of trump and singleton heart left me only one loser in each side suit. The opponents accommodated me in setting up Brent's diamonds to sluff the queen of spades and just never took the ace of diamonds, despite two opportunities. We finished with a 2NT (with an overtrick I would have bid if I'd needed to - K-x of diamonds facing J-10-x-x was just the stopper I needed to let me set up overs safely), but they swept the rubber overcalling my 4H pre-empt with 4S. Brent got into a 2NT that I think was perfectly reasonable, but he Euchred himself, cashing seven tricks and then conceding the rest, when I'm sure there was at least one suit that would have set up for the extra.

Today's Work: I finally formally met our new team member, who seems pretty interested in Bridge, and tracked down two problems to code that we don't have, at least as best I can tell. So I've switched to a new problem that I probably won't be able to finish in the day I have left, but at least I have a way to recreate it easily. I think I know what's causing it, vaguely, and if I'm right, it's one of the hardest things to track down in all of programming.

My mornings are still getting later, but the weekend's coming up. Like I say every week and fail to do, maybe I can get myself back to a more productive schedule this weekend.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
