Today's Bridge: We had a new player today - I don't remember his name, but it starts with a Z. He didn't declare anything, but Jerry had a pretty good day as his partner aside from a disaster of a 4S with a fit in hearts that they didn't find. I had S 10-x-x-x H J-x D x-x C Q-J-10-8-7, which was great for covering Jerry's club suit, and I got a heart ruff after a bunch of trump honors crashed, followed by covering a low spade lead, throwing in dummy when it had only red cards and I had only black ones, and Dan H. ruffed the heart return before I could get to it and led a diamond to promote my ten of spades. Off three. It was our best result - we made a 2S, but I went for a game when Dan supported my heart overcall. On S 3 H A-K-J-x-x-x D K-x-x C Q-J-x, I felt game was a good gamble and didn't really have a good way to invite. His S K-x-x-x-x H 10-x-x-x D x C x-x-x left us with four losers and the opponents took them off the top. The final hand was a 3C response to a takeout double of spades - S J-x-x-x H A-x-x D J-x C K-Q-x-x facing S x-x H K-Q-J-x D 10-x-x-x C A-J-9. Our new player started with the ace, king, and queen of spades, so I had to ruff high. Had I guessed that Jerry had four clubs to the ten, I would have run the nine, but I thought that was unlikely (although I should have expected it, I think) and just cashed my top clubs. With two losers in diamonds, I couldn't afford to give up a ruff yet, so I ran the hearts. Jerry followed throughout, but I could only get rid of one diamond and then dummy had only diamonds to lead, so I ended up off one. It was makable if I could see through the backs of the cards.
Today's Work: I spent the day working out what to work on tomorrow. It sounds unproductive, and it probably wasn't the most productive thing I could have done, but I did what I had to do.

A combination of zucchini and yellow squash made pretty good spaghetti. I'm glad I have enough for the next three days because I got really lazy about picking side dishes.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
