Today's Bridge: Things got off to a pretty solid start. We made a 3NT, then the opponents made a game, but then they had a bit of a disagreement. Ken opened 1H, Dan C. responded 2H, and with S A-K-Q-J-x H A D K-10-x-x C K-J-x, I had to bid 2S - I'm not going to double with a legitimate suit. Ken bid 3D, and both Dans passed. What could I do? I had to pass that. I tried to play a forcing game, leading spades every time I got the lead, but Ken actually had plenty of diamonds, so he only ended up off three. The next hand started with Dan C. bidding 1H, Ken jumping in support with 2NT, and Dan C. bidding 3D. I couldn't help myself and had to point out the obvious temptation - so Ken passed, and they were only off one this time when they had 4H in the bag, and they both knew it. We struck back with 4S, easily made, and I felt no guilt about taking advantage of my opponents' weakness. Another reason I want to introduce Precision bidding - there should be significantly fewer opportunities for misunderstandings like that.

Today's Work: I want to go through the motions of our complete ticketing process, but I don't want to do it on my own. I want to make sure everyone on the team is on board.

I went ahead with the plan to cover tilapia with mango and pineapple. The pineapple corer was slightly more cumbersome to use than I'd expected, and I think one of the mangos was either not ripe enough or too ripe. I might not have cooked the fish long enough, either, since it came out a bit soggy, but that might have been the fruit juice. It tasted pretty good, though, and I had enough fruit left over to try something else later in the week. Overall, it was worth trying at least once. Now to see how it affects my glucose level in the morning. I even held off on eating any crackers to make sure I don't skew the results. Assuming they're not really high, I might have pot sticker salad tomorrow.

Yes, I'm THAT Nidoking. Sometimes I write fanfiction... often I waste all my time playing video games and watching anime. But it's not a waste if I enjoy it, right? I can quote from a movie, video game, anime series, or British comedy apropos of just about any situation, and one of my main goals in life is to entertain people. (The other big one is amassing as much anime and manga as I can... see below for a progress report.) That's me in a nutshell. ("Help! I'm trapped in a nutshell! What a bloody great nutshell this is!")
